Mission 89 campaigns are designed to raise awareness, mobilise institutions, support safeguarding reform, and give the public clear ways to take part in athlete protection. Each campaign combines storytelling, educational materials, stakeholder participation, digital tools, and public calls to action. They are built not just to inform, but to influence how people, organisations, and institutions behave.
The Line We Don’t Cross is Mission 89’s flagship global advocacy campaign, establishing a public commitment to zero tolerance toward the trafficking and exploitation of young athletes in sport. The campaign calls on sport organisations, institutions, governments, and individuals to formally pledge their commitment to safeguarding standards and to actively prevent exploitation within their sphere of influence.
The United Declaration is a formal instrument through which sport organisations, federations, governments, and institutions commit to upholding child protection standards and preventing the exploitation of young athletes. Signatories commit to concrete actions within their own organisations and broader spheres of influence — raising awareness, strengthening policies, supporting evidence-based research, and advocating for accountability across the global sports ecosystem.
The campaign targets 300 organisational signatories by December 2027. The first major public activation takes place at SportAccord Baku, 24–28 May 2026, in partnership with the Alliance of Independent Recognised Members of Sport (AIMS) and United Through Sports (UTS), with an initial target of 50 signatory federations at the Baku launch.
#NotInOurGame is Mission 89’s educational outreach campaign and safeguarding toolkit, providing clubs, academies, and sports organisations with practical resources to identify, prevent, and respond to trafficking and exploitation. The campaign has become a cornerstone of Mission 89’s educational work.
SafeSport Pathways is Mission 89’s EU Erasmus+-funded project protecting young migrant athletes from exploitation. See the dedicated SafeSport Pathways page for full content.
